Nature's most powerful antioxidants have been unleashed - up to 150 times more powerful than vitamin E and 60 times more powerful than vitamin C. A 400-year-old discovery could be a mighty force in the fight against factors that affect aging processes, cancers and many diseases and physical ailments caused from our increasingly contaminated environment and declining biological responsiveness. In the year 1900, the chances of getting cancer was about one in 20, now it is about one in four. We live in the most polluted environment in history and everything around us could affect our health and well being. Not counting lung cancer, cancer rates in women are much higher than in men. Yet women usually take better care of themselves than men; it could be due to cosmetic ingredients. Medicine is able to cure and prevent many diseases, but new ones seem to creep up faster than we can cope. A leading health doctor stated, "The average life span is increasing because we are able to save more babies and children. However, the life span from age 40 on is actually decreasing." He believes this is due to our contaminated environment which is loaded with toxins, carcinogen and a destructive molecule called the "free radical." When we are young, we naturally look good and feel great. But with age comes aches,
pains, lost energy, Free radicals are created in airborne emissions, fuel burning, sunlight, chlorination, many chemical sources and in our bodies' cells when burning fat for energy. These free radicals break down healthy human tissues in a process called oxidation - the same process that rusts iron or steel. Many aging and health problems occur because of free-radical oxidation. In today's environment, the air can be so contaminated, it is unhealthy to breathe. Water is so polluted, it is unfit to drink and our food is full of herbicides, pesticides and toxins. Incredible but true, many shampoos, cosmetics, soaps, toothpastes, lotions, bubble baths, baby oils and personal-care products have been found to be highly contaminated with carcinogens and free radicals. No wonder health care is becoming the biggest business in the world.
In 1534, the French explorer, Jacques Cartier, was stranded on the St. Lawrence River in Canada for the winter. After 25 of his men died of scurvy, Cartier met an Indian who showed him how to make a tea from white pine bark containing a remarkable substance that saved the rest of his crew. Four hundred years later, Professor Jacques Masquelier read of this expedition and initiated research to isolate the ingredients found in the tea. Dr. Masquelier learned the powers of the white and maritime pine bark extracts and patented his discoveries: extracts containing ingredients called OPCs (Oligomeric ProanthoCyanidins). Dr. Masquelier also found OPCs in many other botanicals, most notably in red grape seeds and some in the skin. The grape seed extract had the highest percentages, bioavailability and varieties of OPCs - even surpassing the maritime pine bark extract. Dr. Masquelier classified all OPCs bearing botanicals as pycnogenols and found OPCs were antioxidants that neutralized free radicals.
Scientists have been saying that vitamins A, C and E, as well as beta carotene and other antioxidant bioflavonoids, are vitally important to good health. OPCs have around 20 times the power of vitamin C and 50 times that of vitamin E. Until Revenol, OPCs from pycnogenols had been the most powerful antioxidant sold commercially.
A sensational new discovery, Curcuminoids - a natural extract - has also been added to Revenol. Curcuminoids effectiveness greatly surpasses the antioxidant power of OPCs. It is almost three times higher than pycnogenols from maritime bark or grape seed OPC extracts, 60 times that of vitamin C and 150 times that of vitamin E.
Revenol has been designed to provide nutritional needs for: intense free radical scavenging, heart and cardiovascular systems, arthritis, inflammation and sports injuries, varicose veins and capillary fragility, skin - wrinkles, aging, smoothness, allergies and histamine inflammation, phlebitis, edema and swollen legs, circulation and cell vitality, visual acuity, joint stiffness, diabetic retinopathy, vigor and vitality.
